Rama Atieh, Is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Illinois. She holds a Masters degree in Social Work, with a concentration in children and family, and also holds a Bachelors degree in Social Work from Governor State University. She has over 12 years of experience serving the Muslim community. She is currently serving as a board member and event coordinator for American Muslim for Palestine- AMP Chicago Chapter since 2017.
She also has broad extensive experience working in the field of Social Work. This includes advocacy and community organization, direct services, and case management particularly in communities with refugees and immigrants. Aging, child welfare, policy, and planning with a focus on community assessments and identifying needs, family and individual counseling, healthcare where the focus is on discharge planning, and
developmental disabilities.
She has given lectures and has been invited to speak at universities, schools, and other organizations demonstrating the importance of Cultural Competency in the workplace and School setting when working with Arab/Muslim Americans.
She has a special interest in working with women, couples, and teens. Her passion is empowering individuals by encouraging them to take an active role in reshaping their own lives. She believes that a safe space exists differently for everyone and wants to create a space that is unique for the individual where they can unload their burdens be authentic while feeling secure and free of stereotypes. She wants to provide the support,
tools and resources people need to help them achieve their goals and help them become the best version of themselves.
