Amatullah has several years of experience providing therapeutic services on the East Coast and in Florida. Her background as a School Social Worker in public and Islamic schools has informed her approach to supporting children and families through a strengths-based perspective. She has facilitated school workshops on topics such as mental health, social issues, and personal growth. Amatullah has experience implementing trauma-informed care for children in therapeutic foster care homes. She is trained in providing cognitive assessments to help evaluate developmental disabilities, giftedness, mental health disorders, and social/emotional function.
Amatullah received her Master's in Social Work from Howard University. Currently, she holds a provisional clinical license as a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern in Florida. Amatullah has studied with AlMaghrib Institute, Zaytuna College, and other institutions to complete courses in the Arabic language and Islamic guidance to mental & spiritual health.
As a Muslim woman of African American / Caribbean heritage, and a descendant of reverts to Islam, Amatullah is committed to fostering dialogues regarding culture, inclusion, and diversity in American Muslim communities. She is passionate about helping families to understand their own behavioral motivations and communication styles in order to promote peaceful home environments and successful emotional growth.
