Salam and welcome! As an individual and family counsellor/therapist, I work alongside youth and adult clients to explore mental health challenges, couple and family relationships, life transitions, neurodivergence, , and alleviating the impact of oppressive social structures on mental wellbeing.
In sessions with me, we will get curious about your values, beliefs and unique human experience. I will support you in identifying your strengths, fostering self-acceptance and self-compassion as you navigate life’s transitions and challenges. Together, we will explore the underlying emotions and/or unmet needs of your behaviours, thoughts and anxieties that may no longer be conducive to your growth. We will collaboratively identify more helpful strategies that meet your needs and honour your present self.
I have a particular interest in supporting clients who are seeking a deeper understanding of the impact of their environment and their intersecting identities and experiences on their wellbeing and sense of self. I am passionate about supporting clients to challenge individualistic understandings of healing that may be contributing to their isolation, and explore ways to build and access safe community spaces that nurture their healing and wellbeing
I also enjoy working with and supporting organizations to create spaces of collective healing and community building.
I am a first-generation immigrant settler. I have worked in the social work field in various capacities for eight years, supporting parents, youth and families in navigating social systems and exploring their psycho-social-spiritual needs. I offer therapy in English and Arabic for individuals and families.
My method is integrative and incorporates elements of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy and attachment theories; specifically tailored to meet each individual client’s values, needs, and strengths. My work is grounded in social justice and culturally-affirming perspectives and takes a person-in-environment approach.
